Alex is now three years old and Jake is almost one. It is hard to remember a time without these two beautiful boys. It is also hard to imagine a time will come when they will move out of our house. My husband and I long for an empty nest. For now, part-time retail does not pay enough to move out on her own and support the boys, even with assistance from the state. Alex was born 2/8/2008. He weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce and was 20 inches long. From the beginning he was amazing. He had eyelashes touching his eye brows, and the most intense hazel eyes. He has alway known he's my special guy, and the "Grandma's Little Prince" shirt just reinforces that. He learned to crawl at about seven months, and usually did a bear crawl; hands and feet vs. hands and knees. Of course he was and is the most beautiful grandchild ever born. At three years old he is behind slightly in his small muscle development and his speech, but he climbs everything, isn't afraid to jump down and will always let you know what it is he wants. He is loud, loves to "chase" and play. He's a little jealous of his baby brother, but mostly when I am holding Jake. When Alex was 5 1/2 months old, we took a road trip to North Idaho to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday. We left after work on Friday and drove straight through Colorado, Wyoming and Montana and arrived just at noon local time Saturday. Alex traveled very well. He was the newest great grand, and impressed everyone with his handsome face and sunny disposition. He went swimming with Aunt Sheila and Cousin Emma, slept well, ate his first carrots, and enjoyed the week we were there. I loved showing him off and my parents prayed blessings over him. It was a very special time.
